About Me

My name is Eleanor and I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research in Kobe, Japan, where I investigate tissue aging and the extracellular matrix. I graduated with a BA/MSci in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge (2019) and completed my PhD in 2023 at the Cancer Research UK - Cambridge Institute under Professor Masashi Narita, specializing in cellular senescence and p53 mutations.

Following my PhD, I worked briefly as a Research Associate in the Cambridge Biochemistry Department with Marc de la Roche on antibody-based therapeutics before moving to Japan in July 2025.

Science communication is a crucial bridge between cutting-edge research and public understanding. That's why I created The Sheekey Science Show - a YouTube channel that makes complex topics in aging & longevity, neuroscience, CRISPR, biotechnology, and metabolic research accessible to everyone. With over 50,000 subscribers, the channel features in-depth analyses of breakthrough research, interviews with leading scientists, and explanations of how emerging technologies will shape our future.

Beyond YouTube, I also provide consulting and educational services through my company, Sheekey Science Solutions Limited, helping organizations translate complex scientific concepts into engaging content and strategic insights.
